Case study
Typing interrupts the way people think, communicate, and work. Traditional dictation tools can capture speech, but often leave users correcting punctuation, formatting, and context before the text is ready to use. Glaido brings AI-powered dictation directly into everyday applications, transforming natural speech into clean, usable text without making users change the way they work.
The challenge
People think and speak faster than they type. But turning spoken ideas into something useful often introduces another layer of work. Traditional speech-to-text tools can produce raw transcripts that need editing, and switching between a transcription tool and the application where the text belongs makes the process even less convenient. The challenge was to create an experience where someone could speak naturally and get useful, correctly formatted text directly into the application they were already using.
Our approach
Instead of creating another place to write, build the voice experience around the applications people already use.
Combine speech recognition with AI-powered refinement so users receive structured, readable output rather than an unedited transcript.
Bring together desktop interactions, processing services, user preferences, and account management in a product designed for repeated daily use.
What we built
Glaido lets users start recording with a keyboard shortcut, speak naturally, and insert the resulting text into their active application. The experience supports both quick dictation and longer hands-free recording sessions.
The platform processes spoken language and refines the output with appropriate punctuation, capitalization, and formatting. Users can configure how text should appear in different applications and add custom terminology for more consistent results.
Beyond dictation, Glaido allows users to speak instructions for tasks such as rewriting text, translating content, and working with selected information.
The commercial platform supports user access, account preferences, and subscription plans, providing the product foundation needed to serve individual and business users.
How it ran
The user activates Glaido with a keyboard shortcut and speaks naturally without leaving the current application.
Speech recognition converts the recording into text, supported by audio processing designed to improve transcription quality.
AI processing applies punctuation, formatting, and the user's configured writing preferences.
The formatted output is inserted into the active application, ready to send, edit, or use without switching to a separate transcription workspace.
The outcome
Users can turn spoken thoughts into written content without manually typing every sentence.
AI formatting reduces the effort of correcting raw dictated text before using it.
The same voice interface works across communication, writing, productivity, and development tools.
Desktop functionality, AI processing, account access, and subscriptions come together as a product that can serve a wider user base.
The practical change: Users can move from speaking to usable text in the applications where work is already happening.
Systems and technology
A desktop application experience supported by backend services for AI processing and account functionality.
Speech recognition turns voice into text, while AI processing refines the result and supports spoken commands.
User preferences, authentication, subscription access, and configurable settings provide the operational foundation for the software.
